They don't know anything. I ordered a VC gasket for a 4.0L once and got VC gasketSSS for a caddy northstar.
According to Summit, that is made for the Cherokee. Both are part number 44171. Summit is cheaper anyways, not sure about shipping charges.

Thanks for putting my mind at ease. I will buy that tailpipe and some other stuff soon.
Going to go on my 99 4.0 with a thrush welded muffler. I already have a 2.5" spin cat on there.

Speed Daddy header install
I'm, hopefully, installing my header tomorrow and have a couple of questions. First, I got the black painted one and I don't believe its high heat and don't have the time to sand blast it and do a nice VHT paint job so I'm just gonna let it burn off. However, should I at least remove the paint on the parts (can't think of the name haha) that mate up to the gasket? And second, I've done my research and seems that most say no sealer on the gasket (tho some say copper spray) and I just wanted to confirm a dry gasket install. Thanks.
Oh, and here's a pic of the header.

Got a 01 XJ, muffler is bad. Thinking about a Borla Cat Back system. I know, I know, way too pricey. But I had great luck with Borla on another truck.
If not Borla, then what cat back do you recommend? Should I replace the cat while I am at it? Doesn't seem to need it. 125k miles and garage kept it's entire life
TIA,
SeaVee

HI All,
I'm not sure where to post my question.
I have a 2000 xj. When the head cracked, it was replaced with an 0630, I guess.
Will this affect what header pipe I use to replace the cracked one on there now?
Also, whigh one should I buy to avoid cracking again?

Second, look for the APN header. Stainless steel and under $200 ($160 when my dad ordered his)

For your first question, as long as it's a head off of an HO engine, it will work just fine.
Second, look for the APN header. Stainless steel and under $200 ($160 when my dad ordered his)
My old jeep idled like a cummins. I had a Pacesetter long tube header, 2.5" pipe, Performance Curve Metallic Cat, no muffler, and a 4"x18" tip. It sounded exactly like a cummins until I gave it some gas.

I don't really know what to ask, and I might be posting out of turn, but has anyone found that a long term solution to the header pipe cranking problem?
I saw a post that some header pipes have folds or an accordion shape. Does that prevent cracking?
Thanks!

Okay, thanks for your help! Common pronlem, it serms.
Do you know please, if anyone sells a pre made set-up like the one you describe (with the flex part incorporated) that I could buy?
Is there a link to a system like that that's for sale or description of one?
I'm going to need to replace the whole exhaust system, will be taking it to a shop to have it installed, and want to do it right.
