I did some exhaust work to my truck over the weekend. Doing a custom design, welding everything myself.
Because there is so much BS about cats and their effect on sound and power I stuck my glasspack on where the cat would go and ran it in my driveway.
There was NO difference in sound. I guess I can't testify for power at all, but that's neither here nor there.
With that said, I stuck the cat right back on the exhaust. There was no benefit to having it off, and its illegal to run without.
All this led me to chuckle about all the folks who think going without a cat is good or beneficial. Because I found the exact opposite first hand.

I had a 16V VW, and removing the cat gave much improved throttle response and power throughout its powerband. You may say, well the cat must have been bad. I would agree however I removed the cat on almost everyone I had setup with the same effect.

Just saying.
From my own personal findings there is no need to run without a cat. And it amazes me how much it comes up giving more fuel for the tree buggers to try and BAN us from off roading.
I was merely commenting on the fact that so much BS is tossed around concerning them its silly.

You don't. Pretty much every flowmaster muffler 40,44, or 10 all drone. If you don't like drone I wouldn't go with flowmaster.

if i wanted to run the super 10 off my stock cat...at 2.25
and to go up to the 3in opening for the muffler and run it out stright out the back with 3in pipe and tip..would this need to be custom done at the muffler shop and if so how much do you think this would run me..if its to much im going to save my naighborhood and just go down to the 44 with the 2.5 in tail from performace curve.
