TO MY KNOWLEDGE, ALL 1997-2000 xj'S ARE 50 STATE CERTIFIED AND THE HEADER PIPE IS 2" to the front cat- 2-1/4" out, 2-1/4" in and 2-1/2" out of the second cat

Default Flowmaster 50 delta flow?

I was thinking about getting the FM delta Flow 50 with a 2.5 mandrel bent exhaust on my 2001 Jeep XJ and was wondering if any of you have had it or know how loud it is. I've tried to get a sense of its sound by videos on YouTube but it seems like all of the videos sound different. I don't want it to be wake up my neighbors loud and I don't want droning in the car. But I do want it to be a little louder than stock. Let me know if you have any comments at all. thanks

If everything is working correctly it will pass smog, EGR system (diaphragm, solenoid), O2 sensor, no exhaust leaks, no vacuum leaks, TPS adjusted correctly...
If you fail, then you need to know what readings failed so you can troubleshoot. A new CAT will mask several problems but won't fix it, and you'll have to deal with it again in two years.
I also have an 89 and have fought smog tests since 2000.

Go to the hardware store and get a vernier caliper measuring tool.

Hey there! I have a 99 xj and rn it sounds about as aggressive as a Prius, I want to give it a throatier, meaner sound but not have insane droning, cheap options?

But why do you want to go 2" when stock is 2.25"?

Oops I meant go 2.25 or 2.5. I measured the exhaust diameter incorrectly. Thank you for letting me know

Default Exaust

I am torn on options for an exhaust upgrade. The 3 kits I'm looking at are the Magnaflow XJ jeep cherokee street series, Borla XJ cherokee cat back, and the AFE MACH Force-Xp. I want a loud deep growl, but not insane. but when its still with the engine running still a bit of noise. Ive seen videos of all except for the AFE. Any opinions on which one of the 3 is best for what im looking for? And if anyone has a video of the AFE exhaust please let me know

Installed a Walker QuietFlow SS muffler a few weeks ago and it's already turned brown (not rusted, just brownish in color). I remember this happened with a previous Walker muffler I had years ago on another XJ -- just wondering what causes this discoloration from the Stainless color.

not sure exactly but maybe some production residue left on it and when it gets hot it just bakes it on there and that where the brownish color comes from

Order two sets of V-Band Clamps. Have a muffler shop weld them in.

I’m new to the XJ and have a’99 4.0 I’m getting a p0132 code which is O2 sensor. Questions
are the upstream and downstream sensors exactly the same?
whoo makes the best O2 sensors for the 97-01 4.0?
what r the most common (electrical) issues for the O2 sensors?
my reader cannot distinguish which O2 sensor is bad, is there a way to figure it out or do i. Replace both?
