You are correct. I just stated that on my Renix era rig that my downpipe looked the same! Mine is dented way up by the flange..I thought because it was so big that maybe it was hit at some point but theres no rash on the pipe itself which leads me to believe its factory.

It could be installation error. I bought a brand new piece that didn't have that.

That doesn't look factory at all.

Hmm idk but I don't like it !! Ima up grade my whole intake to my exhaust and fule delivery o2's and all just to get my mpgs past 5..... ( Check out my other thread for the story behind 5mpg's)...but I will try to fab a down pipe at 2.5in

It varies by manufacturer.. I posted pics a while back of the AP Exhaust replacement piece. It does have the crimp. Someone said Walker does not but I'm not sure about this. Most of the time the manufacturer will mimic OE to ensure it fits.

I think I'm gonna get a flowmaster super 44 offroad. Do you guys like that one? And I was wondering what headers y'all are using to gets some more power outta the 4.0L?
