Only slit the outer piping. And I'd only go down an inch or so.

I think it was a 9/16 open end. I wouldn't use 1/4in drive. You have a 3/8 or 1/2?

I used a wrench but I too, would recommend a 3/8th drive at the smallest.

Got very excited about this lol. Went out and got the 44 out of my XJ and made the cut with my super dull hack saw and tried to peal the sticker off. Put the clamp on and turned on my bumper lights cause the same switch turns my red underglows (L.E.D truck brake lights that fit perfectly under the 4 door rocker with some screws) on for some extra light . Found my 3/8 breaker bar and the 9/16ths socket and went to town tightening it down. Put everything up and went for a quick drive and all is well! The sticker should definitely be completely removed cause it stinks haha, but i like the sound compared to driving around today with just the cat on. With the 44 its quieter at idle and once you get around 60 MPH or < 2000 RPM it quiets down a good bit but accelerating slowly when it gets into overdrive and the RPM drop down to around 1500 or so its real loud only thing i have to do is get it our from under the jeep to keep it a little quieter but i like it!!!

Will a turndown quiet down the noise inside the jeep?

Right now ive got stock headers and pipe going to the stock cat and then my Flowmaster 44. I cut the old tailpipe and muffler out so no hangers and it all ends after the muffler. Looking to just channel the sound away from the inside

No it will make it louder. If you want it quieter, you should make it exit in the factory location out the rear.

I think he was saying instead of just having it end, the turn down will direct noise and exhaust

Why? Echoing off of the ground?

My turn down is more of a 45% instead of straight down so it blows out the wheel well

I might try a 90 degree and trim it down and point it to the passenger side or use it to be a 90 degree turndown cause i did notice most of them at the parts store were about 45 degrees
