Why don't you measure it?
It is 2.25 ID outlet, and I'm pretty sure it is 2.5 inlet.

like adapter pipe size to get from the 2.25 outlet of the cat to the inlet of the 2.5in muffler

The cat is 2.25od. You would need 2.25ID to 2.5(OD or ID, measure your muffler).

Measure it to be sure. 2.5 and 2.25 aren't really that much different. 2.5od and 2.25id are very similar.

I just have to say this! I read every post here, and feel totally well educated enuff to throw on a new cat and weld me on a new flowmastster super aggressive 44 or better! shoulda read this thread ummm like yesterday! Before going to muffler shop this afternoon!! FML! But my baby sounds viscious! ;-)
