I have a question.
Lots of talk about upgrading to 2.5" pipe from before the cat, on back. What is the point of this if you have a stock header and the stock s-pipe from header to cat is crush bent? Seems like you'd have upgrade the header and s-pipe too or am I over thinking?

Anywho upgrading that s-pipe to 2.5" will net a decent gain that should be felt! 2.5" mandrel bent pipe and add a piece of flex pipe in it as well. This will give the header some play, which in turn means never cracking a header again
Of course its best if you have a 2.5" collector and a full 2.5" exhaust..but upgrade in setups my friend! Get your s-pipe & catback done. Then do a header with a 2.5" collector!

Well any exhaust shop should be able to make you one! Call around and ask for Mandrel bent 2.5" pipe..tell them you need a downpipe made..with 2 45* bends..or 90* whatever works. I made mine with 45s cause they are less sharp which should help flow.
Anyway..any exhaust shop can make you one for about 50 bucks or so. Make sure to add a peice of flex pipe! It'll be worth the extra 10 bucks vs cracking a 300 dollar header later!
Anyway take em your jeep, show them what you need and let em fab you one up! make sure your driveshaft won't hit the exhaust when your flexed out as well..other thats the other thing to worry about..is the driveshaft hitting!
If they don't have 2.5" mandrel bent piping, then don't do it! You can buy the bends online and have then fab up the straight peices. Just buy the bends online bring them to the shop and say here you go lol.
Look at summint for 2.5" 90* or 45* bends. Think they were like 6 bucks a pop last time I looked. I'd go to a shop and see what they reccomend, a 45 or a 90 cause they'll be making it so make it easier for them!

Looking for an inexpensive muffler to replace my rattling stocker. Don't want it to be crazy loud and don't want to spend over $50 (more like $30ish). A longer glasspack looks pretty attractive but how are you guys getting around the offset tailpipe? Is there a cheap turbo muffler that isn't going to drone allow me to hear my radio? I want it to be a bit louder but not real loud.

I couldn't believe how quiet it is. Not a huge fan of the sound. But I'm also used to my full size Chevy with headers and a 40 series flowmaster car back.

I recently found an exhaust leak around the middle part of the underbody. Is it really serious/ Is it an easy fix?

brand new and want a new exaust but very poor
so i just bought a 97 jeep cherokee, ive got a huge list of upgrades i want to put on and have no money. i want a new exhaust but dont know where to go at all. i know i can figure out how to put it on easily but just dont know what to buy at all. my budget goes as far as 200-250 but if i could through something that sounds mean as hell for under 100 id be happy as a 2 year old on xmas... so just reading through here i saw some things about just doing a glass pack then straight piping it... but idk, i can buy and bend all my own pipe so thinking just the main hardware like glass pack or muffler... the whole deal. just dont know where to look or anything some help and a point in the right direction would be sweet =)

Could take the muffler off and run 2.5" all the way back...
This is what my old one sounded like, ignore the knock and one wheel peel:
Could run a glasspack too, which is what I recommend. Would add a little backpressure and sound about the same.

I'm leaning towards both a 12" glasspack and a Flowmaster Super 10, it doesn't have a cat. I'm thinking this will be deeper and just a bit louder than a Flowmaster 40 or 44 by itself.
Any opinions?

My pipe appears to have 2 small dents inward on either side before it connects to the manifold by the upstream o2 sensor. Is it supposed to be like that? It looks like there would be a lot less air flow.
