Backspacing soft 8s for 97 xj
So I’ve been looking at pro comp 97 wheels 15x8 5x4.5 but I’m not sure on what backspacing I should get. They’re available in 4.5 vs 3.75 backspacing. I know California is a bit strict on how far tires go out but not sure how much they enforce it. Would there be a big difference between the 2? Also, what is a realistic price to ask for my 4 stock wheels with center caps?

i personally always go with the 3.75, but if you don't want your wheels sticking out past the flares, then go with the 4.5. you will also get less mud splashed up the side of your jeep.
but if you get bushwhacker flares, or the like, you will want the 3.75, as they will fit perfectly with them. the 4.5 will be quite tucked in.
