I bought my Truck-Lites for half the price of the JW Speakers. The JW lights have the added benefit of a projector, whereas the Truck-Lites are just a reflector. Although, the cutoff on these reflectors are the best I've ever experienced. From what I've seen and read, the JW's will project the light just a little further down the road than the Truck-Lites. That, in my opinion, is not worth the extra cost.

Also, there's a lot of talk about harness upgrades. These have been proven to make zero difference with LED headlights, due to the low current draw. So if you're looking to upgrade to an LED headlight, don't bother with the harness upgrades. Save your money.

Another thing to note is that the lights were covered with misty moisture on the lens in the morning and the light scattered quite a bit before I wiped them off. Caused a noticeable amount of glare. This doesn't happen with rain or large droplets, only with fine mist. Have to keep the lenses clean in this particular situation.

I have the same issue with projector HID's as well (I think any projector-based lens setup would be susceptible to distortion)

For what it's worth - my 55W HID's had about 1/4" of ice on them after I drove from Denver to Silverthorne (around 70 miles) through a blizzard on Thursday. There was a thin area of ice around the actual projector, but it basically turned the headlight into a "flood" light because the lens was completely blocked.

Trucklites wouldn't have had a chance, the only thing that would work in a March blizzard are halogens. The HID's did fine through the colder months as there was less buildup because the snow wouldn't stick as easily due to the colder air temps, but this Thursday it was pretty thick and heavy snow which was challenging.

I wonder how good the heated JW Speaker lights are, but the price tag is so steep on them that I would prefer to keep my HID projector setup, and get a cheap set of halogen "fog"/driving lights instead.

Actually,
Does anyone have any suggestions for fog-lights that are "DOT-ish", in the sense they can be actually used on-road in inclement weather?
Most led light bars/cubes are general spot or flood, and I know VisionX has some DOT approved LED fog lights with nice cut-off, but they are pretty pricy at $275 and change. Basically, I am looking for some cheaper knock-offs :-D
