Bump stop question
This is my first post here so sorry for asking something that's probably been asked a thousand times! I was wondering if anyone here runs a 4.5 lift and 31 tires and has done the hockey puck bump stop trick.. Wondering how many pucks worked for you and what did you do for the rear as well? I'm new to suspension so it's all a tad confusing to me. If you take the time to help out at all then thank you ahead of time! BTW I own a 2001 cherokee sport and am planning on ordering a rough country 4.5 x series and will most likely run 31 tires.

the best way to do it is to find somthing to flex on and drive up it little bits at a time and looking to see when the shocks or tires bottom out. Just before they do, measure that distance from the bump stop to the landing pad and that's how big of a puck you will need.
OK awesome thank you! I'll see what I can do as far as flexing it and measuring goes.. Was just wondering if it would be a general number or not I've seen that 1 inch for every 1 inch of lift thing.. Just didn't know if all that is 100% true.. Assuming it isn't

it is not true, bumpstop depends on tire size and amount of fender trimming nothing to do with lift.

id go 3" lift or less if you're trimming.
Attachment 286342
This is 3" stock flares and 31s the back is closer to 4/4.5 but still has stock flares.
