I've posted donor lists here - along with possible pitfalls and things you need to watch out for. Search 'em up, and you'll get a better idea than you have now (no, I didn't keep a link when I wrote it...)

The site clearly states it sells used parts. Used & junk yard is the same thing. The only difference is I can get one for 1/2 their price.

Ah, I see. I thought it was just remanufactured which is what im aiming for.

Cheaper then brand new & better then the yard.

Here is what my Durango alt looks like that I mounted to my 98' (notice how the mounting holes are more or less in-line through the center of the alternator).

Here is another example;

Only the "recycled" one that you listed looks to be the correct orientation to me, but it could be my eyes. I would honestly either get a parts-store reman unit (the duralast one) so you can return it easily, or [my favorite and most dependable option] get one from the junkyard and have it fully rebuilt by a known, reputable shop. Tell them to take their time, and throw them a few extra bucks to hot-tank/clean everything twice as well. Basically the same as the "maniac electric" one, but with a local warranty.

I personally haven't had the best luck with remanufactured units, and I prefer local reputable shops vs. big parts-stores/refurbishers because all they care about is volume.

Also, be aware that you may need to swap the connectors on the alternator from the plug-style to the post-style. Really easy to do -- about 4 screws once you get the back cover of the alternator off.

My apologies, I hadn't checked the links. But, if you check it against the lists I've posted, you'll likely find what you want to know without too much trouble.

Fixed it for you.

Curious. Why are you so opposed to going to a junk yard & getting the parts yourself. You don't mind them pulling the parts & charging you more but you refuse to get them yourself?

Strange.

I searched for this "donors list" but cannot find it anywhere! I did find others asking to see this list as they couldn't find it either, lol!

No sorry that's not what I meant as i'm thinking brand new compared to used from the yard!! I guess I should throw out the remanufactured option & just say brand new VS used from the yard.

Holy crap, that's $198 with the core charge & the only way to get the $60 core charge back is to hope that they don't notice its not the same alt as the one I just bought!!

Have you thought about offering a rebuilt high output alternator for sale on here? If you could keep the cost under $100 you should be able to sell a few.

They will never know it's not the correct one unless you tell them. And honestly, they don't care as long that there is a rebuildable core in the box.
