Default Divorced xfer case on 93 cherokee

Ok, so I want to do a 4x4 conversion on my 93 door 5 speed. I have done this before, and I'm not afraid to work. I was thinking maybe I could run a divorced transfer case setup. How would i do this as cheaply as possible. Don't worry about the obvious fabrication costs, as I can handle those on my own. Is there any way I could use my np242 that I have laying around. I would basically need some kind of tiny shaft that connects the transmission's slip yoke to the transfer case input shaft. Any thoughts.

If you want to do this, your rear driveshaft will most likely look short if you compared it to a TJ shaft. Find a combo and be set.

You would need an actual t-case that was made to be run divorced and like said your rear shaft would be short and you'd need a two piece shaft up front to clear the crossmember. Fab a second cross member for the t-case and I don't know of any driver drop cases that are divorced but I'm sure ford used one some time or another. Guessing it would have to be cable shifted as well.

Any idea what case it was cause some didn't have low range and most had a crappy 1.8ish to 1 low.

Wasn't sure what they used but guess you could get a 203 or 205. 205 being the decent one IF you put beefier outputs and lower gears in it. Lowest I've seen is 3 to 1 and the 231 and 242 is just a tad higher than that.

I was thinking even more. I need some information to see if my idea would work. Whats the spline count on a rear driveshaft?

I guess i will drop the idea. Finding correct length driveshafts will be impossible and i will be forced to run SYE so that will offset any savings.
