Default don't buy variable rate coil springs

I bought these Moog springs from Rockauto:

MOOG CC782 {#CC-782} Variable Rate; Sold in Pairs Info
Front; 4WD

Sold as grand cherokee stock replacements, I was planning to use them on my XJ as lift springs

I called Moog tech support and emailed them this pic. They said this is how variable rate springs should look. Needless to say, these are going in the garbage and I'll buy replacements from a different company.

ps, yes I noticed that I need to add that last zerk

What's the problem? They look like every other variable rate spring...

You DO know what a variable rate spring is, and what it does, correct?

If it's the fit you're concerned with, then don't order for a Grand Cherokee, they might be different than springs designed for your XJ

Yep. That's a variable rate spring for sure. Can see that right off.
First post on the forum and it's to bash Moog and/or Rock Auto?

That is one way to get the education. But I would try them first. You might find you really lick them

Please explain why you think there is a problem and we'll explain why you're mistaken.

Do you understand what "variable" means?

I had some metal cloak dual rate springs on my last XJ, and oh man did it ride nice:

He's much better at welding than understanding how springs work:
