I ended up breaking one torx bit on my driver's side, and used a grinder/cut-off wheel to take the head off of one on the passenger side (to help adjust the door gaps).

as odd as this may sound...im in your exact same position! i was cutting my hinges today and i got through one and still couldn't bang it off the pin. then the dremel totally stopped working-tried to fix it;nope no cigar. and i misplaced(lost) my torx haed last night and im going insane trying to find it! i think im going to go get a new bit tomorrow and get the bolts off. it just so finicky to get all the way through the hinge and be able to tell if its cut all the way!!!

yea i was so mad when the dremel broke. i just wanted to go ride. im like, well, of course of all times this is a great one for it to break haha. if its stripped id use a sawzall and cut a notch in the head and use a screwdriver if you can, or shave a side of the head flat and get some vice grips on it.

JakeWI-the jeep is so sick man! i love riding in this thing. did you put on the leaf spring/axle wedges?

use alot of heat and it WILL come out. if its stripped use vice grips or a small set of channel locks

I had trouble with getting my torx socket in there. I had to put a ratchet wrench over the socket just to have enough room to fit the socket in there. Drivers door was not bad. Pulled bolts out of door cut bottom of hinges and than just adjusted and cut hinge pin till it went in and out like butter.

Now the passenger side sucked. Stripped one bolt so took a cut off wheel and cut the head off. Than once door was off welded a nut to the stud to pull the stud out of door. Than cut bottom of hinges off and bottom of pin. Than I had to use a pointed chisel and really beat the pin out.

When I reinstalled every thing I put regular bolts back in the hinge to the door. That way if I ever have to take hinge off again it will be much easier to fit a ratchet wrench in there.

I was kinda mad about the whole situation. I have seen so many threads on here that say just pull the torx bolts and cut bottom of hinges and your done. It was a little more time consuming and agrivating than I expected but happy with the out come in the end.

Well 2 of the torx bolts came out, so with the 3rd one missing the head the hinge just came off over it.. I figure 2 bolts is enough to hold it, and haven't worried about trying to get the rest of the bolt out.

first thing I did when I got the torx bolts out was through all but one in the trash. I took that one with me and headed to the hardware store and got some hex head bolts to put in there.
