I want to mount a flag pole to my XJ but not sure the best way to do it. Anyone else have flags on their XJs? Flag mounts-image-1111650768.jpg

I made a homemade hitch pole. I also saw a guy the other day who has just put one of the little metal flag pole brackets on his bumper. I wouldn't think it would hold up very well but with as often as I see it I guess it does.

I have a homemade one that's just a metal pipe welded to a standard 2 inch hitch. then i have a flag on a pvc pipe with screw to keep it from sliding down too much. for $25 you can't beat it.

Best bet is to build a receiver hitch mounted one cheap and easy to build and to install/remove.

I make them and sell them. 2" square tube, 1 1/2 round tube about a foot of each, 1" Pvc pipe, 1/4 pin and a couple holes for height adjustment. Cut either a fitting or the bulge end of conduit for ziptie retainers. Cost probably ~$10 if that. I used self tappers and the mount the flag came with(for a wall). work perfectly, and my bumper was bent enough to where it points straight up.

you can get them cheap from the junkyard, or get an aftermarket bumper with one in it. Very useful for many things.

I have ares fab bumpers, I like them, I slightly tweaked the rear bumper pulling someone out though. He had a fully loaded trailer, stuck on the side of the road and I was pulling with my 6" drop because I was too lazy to pull a d ring off. I had it in 4 low spinning all 4 on pavement. Here's some pictures of the bumper Flag mounts-image-1985144115.jpg
