Default Ford 8.8 axle swap

Hey guys i have never done an axle swap but have put in a decent amount of research. There is a guy selling a ford 8.8 axle off a 93 f150 for 150. I did some research but coudnt find much on this year, would this be compatible with my 2000 cherokee with rear leafs? If you could let me know asap that would be awesome, and if you know any other common compatible axles that would be great, thanks

that is a full width axle. your front axle is like 61" wide where that one is 65" wide. sooo yeah. not sure of the width of those perches but you'll probably have to cut them off and weld on new ones along with getting a yoke adapter

You need to pass on it. It's wider, less spline count,& 5 on 5.5 bolt pattern.

Get a 95 up Explorer 8.8. It is a 31 spline, disc braked, multiple gear choices, 5 on 4.5 axle (like the one you currently have).
Expect to pay around $200.

Yeah you want ford explorer/mercury mountaineer 95 to 01,All of them had the 8.8 but the gearing was different depending the engine v6 or v8.And you need to get the piece off the driveshaft the u joint is in.Once you have the axle and everything you need to get a 8.8 swap kit. Then you cut off all the spring perches and shock mounts and weld on the new ones in the right places. And use a good welder not some guy that just bought a welder lol.
