With bigger tires and all you need to regear to bring the drivetrain back closer to stock specs. If you want to go up to 33's like you mentioned, you would be able to tell a difference in power, torque and MPG by rehearing your axles to like 4.56 or something

No that change the slip yoke end of the transfer case to a fixed u joint end. Then you use a drive shaft with a slip yoke in it to replace to slipping action from the old yoke. Your gears stay the same.
