My opinion… though it looks awesome it's ridiculous and drives like ****( mainly steering related and tires do rub )...

Bought it like this... someone added a 3” on top of a 8” to squeeze on 35’s….

Absolutely love this XJ as it’s as “clean” as they come inside and out with super low original mileage and besides the lift it has many mechanical up grades that I would have done anyway...

I bought it with every intentions on dropping it back down and making it right…

Build plans for this spring....

Replace steering box (Leaking and shot)

Replace all ball joints
Rusty's Jeep XJ Offset Steering System Tie Rod Conversion
Rusty's Drop Pitman Arm 3"
Rusty's XJ Cherokee Long Arm Upgrade
Rusty's Track Bar - HD Track Bar Package
Rusty's Coils - XJ 8.5-9" Front (Remove coil spring adjuster)
Mickey Thompson Baja Claw TTC 33X12.50 R15

If that thing is going to get wheeled, Id look into getting rid of the dana 35 also.

P.S You don't need anywhere near that height to run 33's.

Remove the blocks and spacer up front, anything over 6.5"s is stupid, honestly.

Well that explains why it's so clean. Shorty arms on 10" of lift and 35's on a turdy five? That has to be terrible.

His back must be killing with that setup, I can barely stand my 4.5" with short arms haha.

It is... while it is pretty horrible it's mainly all steering related, the suspension is actually not as hard as you would think... My blazer was lower and that truck was a much, MUCH stiffer ride... once I make the changes I listed above it should ride just about as good as it looks... the original lift was 8" on 33's and that's were it's going back too...

The previous owners clearly didn't wheel it..

It's actually not as bad as you would think... definitely not as bad as other rigs I've owned..

That's the plan but the original lift was 8.5" so that's were it's going back too...

guess I should have stated that above... once I down size to 33's the blocks are coming out too...
With out the 3" alm. blocks the rear springs should be sitting right around 8" to 8.5"...

I truly have no idea why someone would put a lift on a lift just to run 35's... In my mind it's ridiculous but I guess they wanted to go with 35's and not trim... it failed anyway as the tires still rub a little...
I agree that best all around is 6.5 with 33's BUT since it already has a 8.5 Rusty's installed I'll save the $$$ and just replace/beef up whats worn out and add the long arm... should be all set after that... It's a really sweet truck just someone went alittle off the reservation with it...
