lifting the XJ
So Ive been moving back and forth on how I should go about lifting my jeep. There are many options when lifting the jeep but I,m trying to find the one thats right for me. I have a 3" RC lift on now. I would like to get about a 5.5" lift. My jeep is a daily driver so I want it to be good on road as well as offroad. One option I thought of was getting shackles/coil spacers, along with other essentials (brake lines, sye, etc.) My next option was to piece together a lift ( 6" springs, shackles, and a long arm kit.) Now the last one was just to get a whole long arm lift kit all together. The whole kit would be my #1 choice but it will take a while for me to get the cash together. How reliable is the budget boost in my 1st option? What do you think I should go with?
Thanks for the help!

for the rear, look into getting shackle relocation brackets and 1" lift shackles, that should give you 2-2.5" lift in the rear. Front, there are so many options (coils, solid spacers, ACOS) that its really just opinion

I would stay at the height your at now if its going to be your DD and your not going all out extreme . . 3" is perfect for on road handling and can be very capable offroad . . what size tires are you running now?

What size tire are you planning to run? Are you willing to trim? The only reason to increase the lift is to clear bigger tires. If all you are after is "The Look", it doesn't really matter which lift you get. 5"+ suck as a DD, it works and is Tolerable, but it sucks . If you want it functional, again I ask what size tire? A crap built 5-6" XJ can't do anything better than a well built 3-4" XJ.
