OK so I just bought a 93 Xj lifted with a RE 5.5" on 33's and needless to say the brakes suck. I started by inspecting pads and shoes and they all look fine. Secondly I bleed the brakes (kinda spongy) felt better for a few minuets then noticed a leak between the master cylinder and booster. I went to Autozone today and bought a new master cylinder and booster for a newer Xj but my question is should I exchange them for a Grand Cherokee master and booster? Thanks for the help in advanced everyone I'm looking forward to learning and milling around on this forum.

x2 on the rear disks you can pick up most the parts from a d35 zj and use the zj porportioning valve

I plan on doing rear disc in the future but for now I'm focusing on the master and booster.

Go to the u pull it junkyard by JC Tune Airport and get the parts there. Shouldn't be much at all and you can grab the disc conversion stuff as well. I'm planning a trip there soon as I live about 10 minutes away in Bellevue.

WJ BB/MC combo. made a big difference on my 93, but you'll want rear discs bc the master might make the pedal stiff with stock 9" drums.

Later down the road you may want to think about the WJ knuckle swap. You get better brakes and better steering.

No, the WJ master is a bit large for the stock XJ brakes. Prop valve has nothing to do with it.

I was told a Dodge 2500 van MC would lock the wheels with 39 in. tires.

Do a search for the exact van year.

Default 89 rear brake conversion

So, I have had an 89 XJ since 91 and the brakes have always been poor. So I am seeing talk about converting to discs.
What year, what model would I get them off of? What other parts would I need to complete the deal?
Is there a link to a "how to". I can't find one? Lots of rigs in junk yards around here. Need full name descriptions, don't understand all the short hand. Thanks.
