I just ordered some OME coils and leaf springs from Amazon, the leafs just had shipping stickers no box and the coils were in a beat up box both were undamaged. They both shipped free and I had them at my house in 2 days....gotta love prime.

I wonder if all the OME stuff is drop shipped from an ARB warehouse? The Amazon leafs I bought were Dormans that shipped from an Amazon location.

The leaf didn't bother me after I found someone to fix it. The shock bolt was simply annoying because it meant putting the old shock back on or walking to the parts store. The packing of shocks and coils just shows poorly on ARB and their resellers. They would be fine if they weren't packed loosely in a larger box.

I ordered my OME lift from DPG. My leafs had some cardboard on them and then shrink wrapped. The coils and shocks were all in separate boxes packed in a bigger box with packing peanuts. The DPG stuff was also packed nicely.

Yeah, I ordered from DPG and mine all came the same way as Mikes.
I'm dying to get this lift on. Just trying to decide on wheels. I don't want to run soft 8's, or any steelies, as I'm trying to avoid the extra weight. I'm thinking of going with American Racing AR23 Blacks. They are pretty sick and have the back spacing I want. Plus they weigh like 19 lbs each, and are different from what you usually see.

My leafs were shipped with a label on each. There wasn't any wrapping or cardboard.
I'm really happy with the suspension setup. It rides nicer than it did before and I really like the lift height. I don't think I'd want it any higher though. Corners better, brakes better, accelerates better, etc
I still need to replace ball joints (driver side is bad) and get an alignment. I'm replacing all seven u-joints as well.
Unless I find something else in the process, I should be able to give a good assessment of the suspension with respect to handling and vibrations.
The yellow shocks look out of place against the maroon body. :-)

For anyone that is concerned, my 2.5" lift appears to have reduced my gas mileage by about 1 to 2 mpg. However, I installed the ACCEL TST16 tune up kit last weekend, so we'll see if that helps. Still a few more things to do on this little project...

Before if I were to to try a high-ish speed turn, the outside front would more or less bottom out and turn the Jeep into a poorly aimed sled. In the same situation now the tires make a chirping noise... cool, huh?

I'm jealous of you guys! I have everything I need but wheels. I'm about to order those ASAP. As soon as those get in, the work will begin. I'll be sure to keep everyone posted, and post pictures once it's complete. I'm gonna try and get everything under the XJ the weekend after the wheels arrive.

Teaser!
Hi Guys,
Not trying to revive the thread or anything, but I got my wheels in and tires mounted. Next weekend I'll be tackling the lift. Pretty pumped! I'm gonna start Friday night to give myself as much time as possible.
Wanted to go with something different than soft 8's or D-windows.

Nice I have everything for my lift except for my tires, I'm debating whether I want to just stick with the factory wheels with 31's or buy some d rocks and 33's. So many choices.

They are American Racing AR23 Blacks. 15x8, with 3.75" backspacing. I'm pretty happy with em. A couple were apparently a little bit of a PITA to balance, so I hope all is good when I get them on.
I'm starting to have second thoughts of doing the lift next weekend. The weekend after next is Memorial Day weekend and I'm supposed to drive up north. I'm worried that if I end up with any vibes, I won't be able to drive up there. I currently don't have a tcase drop, or SYE to install. Plus, I'm not a huge fan of a tcase drop.
