Nice setup and choice in parts man, cry once and buy once as it's said. I would highly suggest some shackle relocation brackets, I think you'd be impressed.

Yep, it rode a little more firm than I had expected with OME shocks. I believe the new Nitrocharger Sport shocks are more firm than the original OME shocks. Plus the medium duty kit is made for an XJ with bumpers and skids, in my opinion. If you are shooting for 4.5", I would recommend relo brackets, SYE and 6* shims. Should eliminate all the driveline vibes.

I am using JKS shackles and LII relocation brackets and sitting close to 4.5". It turned out about an inch higher than I had originally planned, but I plan on getting bumpers and skids in the future and I think it will sit around 4" and ride just fine after that.

BUMP, so maybe I missed it but what was everyone running with the 3.5" (CS033RB) leaf pack? jeepinoutfitters pairs those leafs with the 2930 springs and a 1.75" RE coil spacer. im ok with alittle rake- but not a fully inch or more rake. would the 2934 coils work better with a 3/4" spacer on top?

Coil spacers more than 1" on aftermarket coils is a recipe for "coil bind", so I personally wouldn't consider that option.

Any use the 2934 coils with the full CSO33RB leaf pack? Or is the concensus 2930 with the RE spacer? As for the coil bind comment- jeepinoutfitters sells the OME 3” with the RE spacer and 2930s for the front

I use the 2934's and it raised the front of my XJ with a stock bumper 3".

I've read this entire thread and appreciate the responses given. I'm looking for feedback from someone who installed the 2.5" DPG kit (on a 97'+).

1. What are your impressions since install?
2. What are the road manners like? Vibrations? MPG?
3. Did it require the installation of a SYE?

Thanks,
Adam

I'm running the 3.5" kit which has pretty much the same exact components. You'll get 3.5" leaf packs and be instructed to remove the middle leaf to get 2.5" (I'm running 4.5" leafs with the middle removed). Coil springs are the same for both heights but the difference being coil spacer size.

To answer your questions...

1. Very similar ride to a stock XJ. Probably a little better with new components.
2. Refer to answer one, but to add, maybe a little body roll but nothing crazy. I experienced vibes at 3.5". You won't take much of a hit on MPG. As most will say, you don't by an XJ for gas mileage.
3. Always plan for a SYE. Even at 2.5". Best to have it in the plans and have that money ready when/if you need it. Tcase drops are band-aids.

One question I have - is it recommended to get shackle relocation brackets for the leaf springs? or is the shackle angle ok with just the leafs.

So as far as DPGs ultimate 2.5”- is that just 2930 coils and the CS033RB pack? How are they achieving 2.5” from the 2930? What would you have to remove from the CS033RB to achieve 2.5-2.75”?
OR would you pair the OME 2934s with the CS033RB with a leaf removed?

2930 and probably a 3/4" spacer

rb leafs --remove one leaf nets you 2.5"--full pack is 3.5"

you can get the 2934's . I think they net between 2.5" and 3". ..and I think they are a higher spring rate, so maybe a little stiffer ride. I know somewhere in this thread someone paired them with the rb leafs and was happy.

For me, shackle angle wasn't terrible, but if you're thinking about going with SRB's, just do it. Paired with longer shackles and set at a good angle, you'll have all sorts of flex out back and it'll ride better on road.

I went with no lift SRB's because it was a little bit of an afterthought. If I was to do it again, I would have gone with shorter leaf packs and standard SRB's. Just my 2 cents. Still happy with my setup though.

Thanks. I've been buying parts slowly, I mean real slowly. Hoping to get everything together in the spring. I'll probably go with the regular srb and lower leaf packs. Trying to keep it around 3", give or take.

To give a little perspective, standard SRB's, 3.5" OME leafs with the middle removed for about 2.5", and JKS shackles will have you at about 4" to 4.25". You can expect about an inch of lift with standard SRB's, and you'll want longer shackles than stock otherwise you aren't gaining very much travel. Just some food for thought.
