Default Rear Axle Off Center

Hey guys, a buddy of mine has an XJ that he put a new lift on a couple months ago. I just stopped over last night to drop off some extra XJ parts off and he mentioned that the rear axle looks like its "pushed" to the passanger side. Standing behind the rig, the pasanger rear tire looks like it sticks out further than the drivers side, maybe 1/2 to 1'' but definately noticeable.

Anyone got any ideas?
Thanks in advance!

Did he line his axle back up after the lift?

Im the guy with the XJ. When We did the lift everything was torqued with the tires off and on jack stands. From what I have read across the forums maybe it would help if I loosened everything up in the rear and jumped around on the rear bumper then tighten things back up. Make sense at all? and other thoughts?

If the spring center pins are in the spring pad holes, I don't see how the rear axles could be off center. Are the spring bushings in Ok shape?

Its a brand new 4.5" RC kit. Center pins are in the perch. It doesnt make sense to me either. But it is definitely noticeable.

This is the only thing I could think of too.

EDIT: Maybe bent shackles?

Sometimes mine appears to be off too, but other times it doesn't... I almost wonder if it's an illusion.

I wish it was an illusion. But everytime I look at it, its off. And anytime anyone else looks at it its off... There is some vibration around 45-60 mph. So it makes me think that maybe it has something to do with this offset issue.

Could it have been wrecked before you took ownership & you just now notice it?

Other than the typical rocker rust the body is straight. pretty sure its never been wrecked. I noticed it after the lift.
