Default Rough Country XJ 4.5" X-series Suspension lift

Tell us about your personal experience with this lift kit.
The good and the bad, i per exemple had some problems with wobble but after alot of fine tuning i got rid of it.

I've just heard a LOT of negative things about Rough Country. No personal experience though

Ditto. Much of what I've heard is related to fast-wearing bushings, poor customer service, under designed parts, and springs that sag quickly or don't hold up to trail use. Again, this is all through the grapevine so take it for what it's worth.

I had RC 4.5" lift that sagged more than a rappers pants....... Switched out to Rusty's 8.5" LA lift when I went to bigger tires, and don't have any complaints yet.........

I have the RC 4.5" with add a leafs. The front has held up through some serious abuse and has done fine. It's roughy ridding but I didnt expect a Cadillac when I lifted it. The rear started to sag pretty quick. I'm not real upset about it though. To me you get what you pay for. Over all it has worked pretty good for me but after nearly 5 years of abuse and sagging rear spring I'm finally up grading. I'm fixing to get a rustys 6.5 long arm kit. Hope that helped by the way.

Only advise I would give to someone going with that lift is to go with full spring packs.

yea you really get what you pay for...if you dont do a whole lot crawling and just on the tame trails..it would probable be ok. but i will be a rough ride. i had some coils from rough country and man my back was killing be after that trip. i switched out to the teraflex 6.5 and love them. and built the s10 bastard pack.

I wouldnt, because they are too short and make your shackle stand up vertical, hindering flex and ride.

I wander why every single one of my bushings (leaf springs and control arms) go bad every few months. I wont even replace them anymore. My Jeep will be clunking until I get RK and toss this crap in the garbage.

I have the exact kit you're referring to and I can't complain. You won't find a more complete kit at that price point. Is it perfect? No, but that's not what it was meant for.
Only issue I have is that the rear rides stiff due to shackle angle, but that can fixed. My kit flexes very well, IMHO. Customer support is excellent. You do get what you pay for, but this gets your foot in the door for a great price. To each his own though!
