Shock Size

Shock Size
I'm in the process of making my jeep sit a bit higher than it did previously. When all is done I will have about 5" of lift ,perhaps 5.25" would be more accurate. What brand shocks should I look into and what size, I know the shocks I have now will be way too short. Any help and names of particular shocks would be greatly appreciated.

Bilstein 5100's are always a good choice for a mid priced one with VG quality. You will need to measure to see the exact length that you need extended. All are different as to what length you will need and this is the only way.

Everyone here is going to recommend Bilstein 5100 shocks.... and they are also going to tell you to measure what you need after you lift it.... take the suspension from fully compressed to full droop... that measurement is the shock travel you need... you can also add longer bumpstops to help with more down travel...

I ordered the bilstien 5100 shocks for 5-6" of lift and they worked perfectly for me. At about 5.5" of lift. I hit the bump stops with about 1/4" of up travel left with extended stops.
