Default SYE opinions

What's up guys, just need some input on which SYE I should pick up. Just lifted my XJ 4.5'', so I'm definitely gonna need an SYE. I don't like the t-case drop, and my U joints in the rear are already clunking. (They were already going, lift just pushed them over the edge) So, what's a good SYE for daily driving, no trails, no mud, nothing, just asphalt? Not looking to break the bank, but I also don't need anything crazy heavy duty, the truck will never see anything besides crazy NJ potholes. Thanks guys. The XJ is a 1993, 4.0, 4wd with a C 8.25 Axle

Advanced adapters also makes one for the 242, although it is very expensive compared to the 231 sye, or the hack-n-tap for the 242.

If I was never gunna wheel my jeep I'd go with whatever I could find for the cheapest. I think for the most part any two sye's would be the same for a street queen.

There was a change in 1997? on the 231. Not sure exactly what the difference is in 231's from years before. Check the instructions on this, and maybe someone has more info

I like this thread. I saw a side by side comparison on the JB Conversion site, but wondering what Advanced Adapters or others would say.

I've been eyeing this kit available through Adam's Driveshaft that includes a Rough Trail SYE. Does anybody know anything about Rough Trail?

^^^^This looks decent

Iron rock offroad sells a sye/shaft kit for a similar price. Ive never used it personally but Ive heard good things and IRO is well known to make good stuff.

Rough Trail is Crown Automotives "off-road" line. Crown is a reputable name in replacement jeep parts. I currently run Rough Trail HD shackles which have been very good quality. That's all I can speak on for their Rough Trail branded parts though

I have the PORC SYE installed in my 90. I have no other kits to compare to. That said, I found the quality acceptable; especially since they are about the cheapest you can find for a full kit. It has been installed for ~4000 miles with no issues. My use is limited trail use, some beach use and mostly DD.
