I wanted to keep the cross bar spacing more even.
The c pillars are only 2" apart, still good for load path.
The speed I wheel at , and the closest I have come to going over was all pretty low speed.
It was a trade off of mount shoulder staps more horizontal and bump head on roof (sic neck injury) vs steeper angle ((sic possible spine compression)
Since I am not Bajaing at 100 MPH chose the latter and less likely for injury.
Schroth belts have "fuse" that at certain load stiching breaks and belt pays out to absorb energy.
To avoid spinal and soft tissue injury.
The DOT Schroth belts use the rear seat buckle anchor points ~ 45 Deg angle, to the bar is about 70 Deg angle. Not optimuim but again Speed is not a factor.
Harness uses outer and inner mounting points of stock belts, longer bolt and 1/8" mounting plate is mounted under stock belt bracket.
Shoulder belts form Y shape and go to single mount. (usually rear belt buckle) but then no one can sit in rear seat, so I went to bar, strap is between rear seat occupant legs.

Here is my cage build. It's made of 1.75"x.120 DOM and HREW. The main structure is all DOM and some of the spreaders are HREW (save $$$) I also cut the rockers and boatsided it while I was at it. The cage is 8 point and built off the new rockers. The unibody is plated with 3x4"x.25" angle which is welded and bolted to the "frame". The new boatsides and rockers and built off that with 4-2x2"x.25 square tube supports......I can only post two pics at time so it will take a few

Cage looks good. How do you like getting in and out with those door bars? Im thinking of building something similar but not sure if i will like having to climb over them

Yeah I have two. Here are the links. There are also a bunch of pics in my jeep album under my avatar.
This is from when I first built the jeep 6+ years ago. It starts out with my first Ford radius arm design and axle, then progresses to my new front axle and suspension design. Its an R.E. style radius arm on the driver side with one long lower on the passenger side. Lots to read and lots of pics here.
