Andrew's list is the best to use the other isn't that good as a rule of thumb a 31" tire needs 4.10 gears and 32-33's needs a 4.56 ratio to get close to the stock ratio with best MPG and off road performance. I use a 4.56 for most of the time on 33's but do use 35's off road part of the time and it works out fine for me and what I do most off road when on the 35's. I have wondered why they did that chart for a 3rd gear for an AW4 trans and 4th in an AX15 deceives a lot of people.
Most people seem to go with larger tires as they continue with their builds it seems, so plan on that with gears as that is something you only want to do once.
When you do your gears you should budget for lockers at the same time as same labor is required for them so no extra cost involved.
