What lower CAs give you the best bang for your buck when only dealing with trails and city\highway? Im going to be going 4.5"max.

Do it, an auto with 3.55s is terrible, I gave up my 33s for that reason...a stick with 3.55s might be livable...no way with an auto though. Do yourself a favor and build FOR 33s, not AROUND your new 33s, trust me, it'll be much less frustrating lol...

Id go bigger then 31"s if I were you I regret my 31"s now j have these tires that still have 80% tread left when I really want a set of 33"s or 35"s I'm willing to regear and I want to do bushwhacker flares

You can run 33"s just fine w/o regearing as as you don't go over 12.50" wide tires and you don't run Boggers. I was running 33" Maxxis Bighorn's an had no problems. I live in VT where there are a ton of hills. I did do some engine upgrades though. Like injectors, air intake and exhaust. If you are going for gas mileage. I would get a Honda.

I don't understand where some of you get the idea that you can't run a big tire without regearing.
I run 35s on stock gears.
Does the gas mileage suck? Yes.
Do I still have torque? Yes
It is ideal to regear..but some of you seem to think you can't drive the thing without regearing

Of course you can run big tires without regearing. But it is VERY desirable to regear. It's night and day difference. From my experience at least. If I were todo it again, I wouldn't do a lift/bigger tires without regearing immediately after

Haha; thats whats I said too. RC 4.5" full suspension was awesome, but soon found some front coilovers and rear shackles under it combined with the RC lift and now I'm happy ...so much for that 4.5" max thing, of course prob only sitting more like 5.5" total after the weight of the winch bumper and roll cage.
As far as the gearing I'm still rollin on 32" Dunlop M/T's...they look a bit small for my taste now between the lift and cut out bushwhackers but I am sporting the 3.55 gears and did an ax-15 5-spd swap. It was def a pita with the aw4 as I live in the mountains and it just didnt know what gear it wanted to be in, but now with the ax-15 it feels just about right and the shifting control is great!...of course if I up the tire size then I will probably opt to re-gear but somehow I'm getting an 18mpg average (gps calculated) with the 32's and the ax-15, mileage was the same with the aw4 tranny...would sure hate to screw that up! Of course I am also on Ultra aluminum rims and the wheel/tire package is surprisingly lightweight, almost equivalent in weight to the stock 225/75-15's and steel wheels so that may be a factor, but at the sacrifice of durability as I would be a bit afraid to thrash these deep dish rims in the rocks too hard as they look like they would snap/crack easily and I think the tires are a very light duty that wont stand up to much, very streetable though for commuting with a little off the beaten path fun...looking into a second set of better tires and steel rims to swap out for the mostly off-road excursions
