[FS] Interior LED Sets
#212
Been lurking for a while and just joined. I have fixed so much in my 98 Xj myself because of all of these threads including my stuck tailgate today. I'd be interested in some of these led's. The superbrightled site was way expensive. I bought some of the interior bulbs at the Overland Expo (amazing rigs for miles if anyone is ever near Flagstaff in a May). Overlandsolar.com has some of these and they are working well. I bought a couple on ebay before finding the new ones and they worked for a while but they got dim and looking inside some of the little diodes fell off. So far so good with the festoons I think they are called.
I looked at the overlandsolar website. I used multi-chip LEDs like that at first, but have since gone primarily to LEDs that use fewer chips encased in a diffusion material. It makes the output work like a single source and helps to slightly soften the edges of shadows.
For the vanity mirror lights I really want to move to a custom fit led backlight panel because while the LEDs are very bright there, they're kinda blinding due to be a point source.
If there are any lights you are interested in trying, let me know specifically which ones. I'm out of vanity mirror lights, but I'm expecting a large shipment this week. Once I verify the parts are correct, I'll have between and 200 and 300 sets available.

If I followed along correctly, it looks like you're in the process of restocking your full LED sets. Is blue still the best option for the cluster lighting? If so, I'll go with that.
When you're ready, I'll buy the white interior set (no OHC) and blue cluster set for an '01 XJ. Thanks.

I held onto the last blue instrument set, but sold it to someone else after some weeks.
Interior sets will be back in stock in a couple weeks... one is possible, two is probably more realistic.
Instrument sets will be several months. I'd say fall is my earliest projection for them. I want to improve color consistency between cluster and other panels and replace the stock HVAC lighting with a backlight system.
I need to sell about half the instrument sets I've ordered first, so first things it is.

ZJ Interior Set
ZJ interior sets look to be exactly the same as the XJ. If anyone wants a ZJ set (minus visor lights) just prove to me that you have a ZJ (previous forum post to that effect and at least 25 posts total) and give me feedback within a week or two of receipt.
No charge for the lights or shipping. Two dome lamp sets and two overhead console sets up for grabs.
Lastly, does anyone know if the interior of the ZJ changed over its run? I only looked at a 97 and 98.
I can still do XJ interior sets minus visor lights. $20 shipped. Prices will be $30 per set once I get my website up and my business permit allows me to sell. That is June 1st at earliest.

Hey man i got the lights in this past Tuesday and installed them Wednesday night. WOW!!! the cluster lights are the biggest difference i notice right away. Also the switch lights and the HVAC lighting is vastly improved. I'm glad i got them before you completely ran out of the 84-96 sets. The Dome lights are a big improvement but they seem a little more dim than the other led's and more on the cool blue side of the color spectrum. They are still 10x better than the old stock lights that were in there before. If you come across any that are a little whiter though i'd be in for a set of those since i'm not big into color changing and having blue lights and all that jazz. I'm more of a Functionality type of person rather than aesthetics in some cases. I also found that i had no footwell lighting so i had to order the pigtails for them and will install those when the harness comes in. I'm very happy with my led set, thank you again Snajo.

For the dome and cargo lamp, if you're willing to bend the posts that hold the lamp in place, I can send you a fuse style lamp.
This is what you should have.
These below are an alternative. They require a fair amount of bending to the mounting posts to fit well... about 1/4" inward or so on each side. It was enough that it made me uncomfortable on my test enclosure. They will work fine as long as your posts aren't corroded. Also, they are as bright or brighter.
I strongly recommend cleaning all the removable plastic lenses with soap and water while they're out. That plastic probably looks yellow, but is in fact clear. Surprised the hell out of me after I took some dawn, hot water, and some q-tips to them.
Let me know what you think and I'll get you set up the best I can.

I'm going to clean the lenses. Mine are white they aren't really clear. They do have a little bit of yellowing but I'm sure I can clean that out. I definitely don't want to bend the tabs that much inward for fear of breaking it all together. These lights are bright but they feel just a little too blueish. Its probably me just being overly particular about things. I believe that with the footwell lights it'll brighten up a bit once I get them installed. The cluster is great like I said. I think what I was hoping for was more like dispersement from the dome light since it seems to be more focused to one area. Like I said it's probably me just being overly particular. For the price and the product you sent. You really do leave no room at all for complaining, it's more of a mild whining...lol

The dome light to me looks more of the color of the 1st light on the left and I did receive the 3rd light on the right for the reading glove box and footwell areas. Stupid bright in the glove box now. I love it.

I wasn't aware of a config without map lights. I do recall that the dome lamp is a frosted plastic now that you mention it. Brain and me have some thinkin to do.
It would be nice if you had the overhead console. Much better for light.

True it would have been nice to have the overhead console but I like the shear simplicity of just the dome light. On the other hand tho, I did find a dome light with reading lights in gray today at the JY. Now to just cut out the hole for it and install. I was also able to find the floor light harnesses and brackets in a 95 cherokee. They are mint! Going to install these to ight and see how it changes the interior.

I was able to get the floor lights in. Holy hell, they are bright! They add to the dome light and make up what I thought the domes were lacking. It all works together to make it bright as hell inside. Kudos on picking some good product! I'm slowly turning my 94 sport into a fully optioned base model lol. Thanks again!
