I just brought this 1999 Jeep Cherokee. I can't wait to turn it into a real fun toy. Its a 4x4 with Manual Tranmission, Dana 30 HP front axle, Chyrysler 8.25 rear axle, 4.0L motor. Very clean exterior body and interior. It has always been in the desert (a.k.a. NO RUST) and was well maintained buy the only other owner besides me. The engine was replace 60,000 miles ago by the dealer. It has been hard to find a manual transmission, mostly automatics here in Mesa, AZ so I am very happy about this find. I am just trying to figure out what modifications to do? ( the why? I am on the forum) My wife thinks it is a family car right now! Havn't broke the news of what I am planning to do, any ideas? The best part is I paid 2,300.00 Badnews I will need tires, exhaust manifold and new fuel pump. Also need to fix the door hinges, everyone of them have play where the pin goes. Lubercating doesn't work. Any ideas? Thanks everyone.
