Newby looking for second Jeep
I am about to buy my second Jeep, my first being a 01 XJ Sport. I really liked that jeep, my son hit a tree last night. I am not sure what my second Jeep will be yet, and I was looking to learn a little more from this forum. I am leaning back to another XJ, maybe an 97 or 98 this time to get away from the COP (coil on pack) technology. However, I am also going to look at the Grand Cherokee as there are a lot more of them for sale in my area, then XJ's as well as the Liberty. I don't know anything about either of them yet.
I took my jeep on sometimes muddy tractor trails to get to where I hunt and fish, but nothing to radical. There are some jeep trails in the Cumberland Plateau area, but being that this will also be a daily driver, I wont get to crazy with that. I did really like my 4.0, what years didn't have the part time 4x4? This jeep will transport me and a bird dog, to cool camping sites, fishing holes, and places to bird hunt, as well as chew toy runs.
Thanks

Welcome. Coil packs appeared on 2000 and up.
All years from 87-01 have part time only (231 transfer cases). U just gotta look for ones that got them. In fact it's more common than finding one with full time option
