sup.. suggestions
Hey all, just bought my first jeep a 1997 jeep cherokee country
her story
I bought her with 87k miles and 2 prev owners
6 cyl automatic
all stock
plans:
Well, im a 19y/o college student with 1 vehicle and no money so I can't do much. Although somethings that need to be done soon are the shocks and axel ends.
Shocks on the basis that my jeep is a "bucking bronco" that turns the smallest pot hole into a threat <-- I plan to replace myself any suggestions?
and axel ends because I was advised so when I got it inspected
in the distant future:
id love to build her up, a lift, big tires, the works and make her a weekend warrior which i can still use in my comute to college practically(also any suggestions would be awesome)
For now:
Id like to make her last as long as i can if any one knows of any performances parts that are worth the money to put into a 14y/o vehicle pls leave a comment. Been looking into cool air intakes (do they actualy help) and high performance ignitions(although i have no reason to replace my existing1) so if there's any trade secretes to making these babies run forever id love to know
Ive got my chilton and a stack of jp magizines to help me but besides that i have no background in jeep mechanics and am eager to learn.

- The 1st owner had it for a short time before it was in an accident from what I can tell it was front end damage cus the inside fender is a little banged up. Must not have been too bad because its the original engine.
- The 2nd owner was a local mechanic and my gf's uncle (how I found it) whose wife drove it mostly in the winter.
