Talking Parking brake not turning when I go into drive

I had my first dealer service at 10K miles. They apparently flashed the dash computer system.
It accelerates slowly from 30 mph to 75 when I have the cruise control set. It used to to pick up speed very fast.
Now I see it has the outside temp next to the time.
I think I should also check how my MPG is, better or worse?

The only problem I see is that when the parking brake is set it used to have a choice to turn it off when shifting into drive.
Now I have to turn it off myself. I didn't know that until I tried to drive and noticed that the parking brake was holding the car from moving.
I hope I didn't damage anything when I did that.
Does anyone know if the option to have it turn off automatically when its in drive is still there somewhere but I can't find it. I looked in the on screen settings.
I didn't try the choices in the space where the speedometer is using the controls on the steering wheel.

It should turn off automatically, as long as you have your seatbelt on. Mine does anyway.

That worked. I put on the seat belt and it went out of park.
The problem was I just wanted to move a short distance in a parking lot, didn't put on the seat belt and
didn't notice that they changed it and it wasn't going off like it did before.
I tried to drive and of course it didn't move. I guess I'll find out if that hurt anything.
Some of these things are too complicated. I can see someone getting stuck in a bad place due too some connection problem in the seat
belt sensor. Not so bad if its under warranty but as these cars get older some of these clever gizmos are going to get expensive.

Try opening the car door to watch while backing up when you can't see out the back window (and the poorly placed rear view camera is coverd in mud again). It'll start beeping and put the parking brake on, assuming you were stupid and got out and left it in gear.

@law At first I didn't understand what you were talking about. Its good to know that the computer is concerned about us and will do what it thinks makes sense, even if there is no place to
read about all the things it may decide to do. In my original question the problem was that they changed how it works and there was no warning about it.

What they should do is have a log of changes that we could view on the screen.
