Single DIN w/ Apple Carplay?
Any recommendations for a single DIN stereo that has CarPlay? Been looking for a while and was thinking of the Jensen CAR910X. There aren't many to choose from that arent crazy expensive

Check out Crutchfield.com. You might even call them. They have tons of info that they are happy to share.

I installed a Kenwood DMX47S using the a dual din kit from Crutchfield, it was a little scary modifying the vents but the kit is pretty good. I used a hacksaw blade with a handle that just grips the end of the blade to cut the vents and the kit comes with metallic tape to cover the holes. I recommend using a Apple USB cable to plug in your phone as the aftermarket cables will cause the Car Play to freeze.

Late to this conversation - but the previous owner of mine installed this thing:
Actually a pretty decent solution to single/double din problem. Doesn't block the vents, doesn't block the AC controls, and adjusts up and down (and is quick removable if you wanna throw it in the center console).
Works fantastically as far as I can tell, backup camera too.

@Rhodesy1969 is the installation plug n play? Just unhooking the wires from the stereo and reconnecting the new stereo the same way?

Plug n play? No. You'll need to butt-splice the harness that comes with your new head unit to an adapter harness, that then connects to the factory wiring. Of you can just butts-splice the heat unit harness directly to the factory wiring after cutting off the OEM connector, eliminating the need for the adapter harness. if you already have an aftermarket heat unit, you more than likely already have the adapter harness, but you'll still need to splice on the harness for the new head unit because it will almost certainly be different than the one you have now. Murphy's Law...

I guess I don't have to say it since it's probably apparent but yeah... I don't have much knowledge of this kind of stuff. I will say though that this forum (and Youtube) have been super helpful to learn how to do a whole bunch of stuff on my vehicle. Thanks for the info. It would be nice to be plug n play, but what you're saying sounds very doable.
