So i went wheeling Yestarday and hit a trail i have never hit before, had a good time the first run and waited for the other jeep i was wheeling with to show up before i made a second pass before dark. we went out had a good time and made it to the end safe and sound, but while entering the 2nd time i almost had a roll over on my hands when my front end dug in on a down hill and my rear end lifted up i made it down safely thanks to being taught how to drive out of a roll and didnt think anything of it.....until the drive home. i was about 10 minutes away when i crossed a railroad track and heard a loud snap as my jeep cut HARD to the right and my tire was pressed into my wheel well, i pulled over and well.....i found this...my guess is i put to much strain on the factory mounts when the rear end lifted and it caused a crack which gave out once i hit the tracks. i was able to strap it and leg it home at 20 mph, i am only a week away from building the motor but im deciding to end the jeep build until next year and invest in a v8 awd grand cherokee until then as a daily. i am lucky enough to be working at an auto salvage yard so i can scoop up some larger axles for the build and im planning on going with the iron rock lift. it was a hard decision to give up on this jeep for the year but it had to be made.
