drove it to work and back, put about 175 miles on it so far and its averaging 20mpg, including a lot of idling and WOT pulls
super happy with it so far, pcms still learning so its just keeps getting faster.
the deep first gear with near 300 lb/ft off idle is interesting, i screech the tires a lot unintentionally haha

Went to both junkyards. Got everything I needed. Also decided I want a WJ steering wheel. But the tools I rented wouldn't pull it. The stupid claws were too long. But I found an XJ with the steering wheel already pulled and the airbag just laying there, so that was convenient lol. Also found a wj with really nice leather seats that I want... But missing the driver seat :/ lol. Maybe one day I'll find a set that nice again that also matches my interior...

I should have taken some pics of mine before I had it replaced lol.
Turns out I left my steering wheel retaining nut at the junkyard because it was stuck in my socket..... Ughhhhhh Lol. This one ish hour job is turning into a three day job. At least tomorrow I'll grab an iac screw too. Then I'll have two screws holding it in lol.

Lol, oh believe me it's bound to happen eventually. Not anytime soon as this engine is in outstanding shape. But once I'm done with all the work I have planned for the axles & and suspension, then it's power time.
Auto is gonna give way for a stick, and it'll either get a V8, or a stroker 6.

Yeah I'm still leaning pretty heavy toward the stroker... but I sure do love the rumble of a V8...
@cleenrob; All too familiar with things getting outta hand. Few years ago I had an '87 Mustang GT as my DD. Freezeplugs were weeping, so I had my favorite machine shop "freshen up" a spare block I had. Simple swap. Right? Ended up with...
Blueprinted, all forged internals
B303 cam
ported 351 heads
Ported Cobra intakes
Comp rockers, TF springs
Boss302 oil pump
BBK headers
100HP wet kit
etc, etc, etc.
And... I wrecked it.
